Came up with the idea last Thursday, found locations over the weekend, auditioned actresses yesterday and today, doing storyboards today and tomorrow, shooting Thursday & Friday, editing all next week.

I’m really excited, I haven’t done a project this quickly for a while. It’s for a competition but I always just wanted to make a quick little thing. I’m astounded that people would want to work on it for peanuts based on the concept alone, but then these are good people. Or so we shall see!

It’s fun to worry about about failing, I haven’t done that in months! Even though it’s a small thing that will be seen by virtually no one it’s still something I’m putting my name to. I think though that I need to keep remember that poster about how the first few things you make will not be as good as the things you make later. I also have a tendency to rush things, but I’ve made some of my best work by rushing! If I stop to think about it, I overthink it and that’s where the problems come in.

Going to watch a film called ‘Ex-Drummer’ now before I go out to meet someone for a freelance gig. So much to do, in one lifetime!

Based in Hong Kong for a month. I was playing Gears 3 with a mate last night when I got a text about the 48 Hour Sci-Fi Competition in London, I’d applied a while back but then failed to find anyone even remotely interested in helping me produce. I was considering entering for about an hour, since I could just upload an entry from Hong Kong, but then I remembered that I’m still extremely jetlagged and feel like crap.

Also I just tried going back to sleep, my Dad played a children’s show for my baby brother and the sound of a thousand children shouting at maximum volume gave me a heart attack. Guess who’s not going back to sleep.

I’m planning on entering another competition whilst I’m here anyway, I’m going to do the Genero.tv music video contest for School of Seven Bells, they have a song called the Night which is sick as hell and I think shooting it in Hong Kong would look great. I’ve got some interesting ideas for it too, just need to start detailing some storyboards so I know even vaguely what I want to do.

I would give anything to go back to sleep. Be still, my beating heart.
